Overview
This unit introduces students to the skills and knowledge of the elements and techniques required of the professional writer of creative non-fiction, to critically and creatively engage with the concepts and processes of creative non-fiction and work independently as a writer. Creative non-fiction forms may include: travel, biography, memoir, autobiography, history and others.

Learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:
- Analyse concepts, processes, principles, theories and elements of creative non-fiction writing
- Develop and refine an original concept for creative non-fiction
- Critique a range of approaches to creative non-fiction
- Determine style, genre and form, timelines and publication requirements
- Evaluate, review, revise and incorporate editorial advice in creative non-fiction writing
