Overview

This capstone unit enables students to draw on the sub-disciplines of exercise and sport science to design, implement and evaluate a research question. Students will use their research method and statistical analysis skills as well as their practical laboratory, field testing and exercise and sport science skills to undertake an ethical research project in a group.

Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Integrate knowledge of and skills from the sub-disciplines of exercise and sport science, technology, research methods and statistical analysis to develop, conduct and evaluate an ethical hypothesis driven research project
  • Communicate findings at an appropriate level to the audience, both scientific and members of the community
  • Apply knowledge to demonstrate an understanding of how the results contribute to the improvement of health, fitness or sporting performance and could be used by an exercise or sport scientist.
