Biography
Dr Rachel Brand is a Clincal Psychologist and Clinical Fellow working in the Voices Clinic, a specialist service run by the Centre for Mental Health, Swinburne University of Technology, offering psychological therapies for people who hear voices.
Dr Brand graduated from Manchester University, UK with a Psychology BSc (Honours) in 2004. She then trained as a clinical psychologist at Royal Holloway, University of London, UK, gaining a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2009. Dr Brand is also currently undertaking a PhD exploring the role of posttraumatic stress symptoms in voice hearing and trialing a trauma-focussed psychological therapy for trauma-related voices.
Her main research interests lie in understanding the psychological mechanisms involved in hearing voices and developing new psychological therapies that target these mechanisms.
