Overview

This unit aims to develop students’ design skills and understanding of technology and creativity working on future-focused branded environment projects. This unit will encourage students to research, explore and experiment with different technologies, materials, visual communication and interior architecture in experiential design scenarios.

Learning outcomes

Students who successfully complete this unit will be able to:

  • Demonstrate research, analytical and critical thinking skills in the development of and a response to, a project brief
  • Identify the principles of Branded Environments and theorise on potential future directions
  • Apply research and insights to inform the development of innovative future-focused design proposals
  • Represent spatial design proposals through a variety of traditional and emerging technologies and media

  • Trend forecasting and future-focused branded environments
  • Impact of new technologies on construction and production processes; and design processes
