Biography

Derui Ding received both the B.Sc. degree in Industry Engineering in 2004 and the M.Sc. degree in Detection Technology and Automation Equipment in 2007 from Anhui Polytechnic University, Wuhu, China, and the Ph.D. degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering in 2014 from Donghua University, Shanghai, China.

He is currently a senior research fellow with the School of Software and Electrical Engineering, Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. From July 2007 to December 2014, he was a teaching assistant and then a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics, Anhui Polytechnic University, Wuhu, China; From June 2012 to September 2012, he was a research assistant in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong; From March 2013 to March 2014, he was a visiting scholar in the Department of Information Systems and Computing, Brunel University London, UK; From January 2015 to December 2016, he was an associate professor in the Department of Control Science and Engineering, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Shanghai, China; From June 2015 to August 2015, he was a research assistant in the Department of Mathematics, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong.

He has been conducting research in the field of Control Theory and Control Engineering and his research interests include nonlinear stochastic control and filtering, as well as multi-agent systems and sensor networks. Since 2012, he published 86 fully-refereed papers in prestigious international journals and 20 papers in national and international conferences. Specifically, nine articles were published in \textit{Automatica} with impact factor 6.355 and IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control with impact factor 5.093, the two best journals ranked in the category of Automation and Control Systems by Web of Science. He is a Highly Cited Researcher in Engineering (2019) according to Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters). As of 5 November 2019, his research work has attracted 2488 citations with h-index of 28 according to Clarivate Analytics and, as of 20 December 2019, attracted 3383 citations with h-index of 31 according to Google Scholar.
